Good Work Collective is a member-owned producer cooperative structured as a Washington State for-purpose LLC. The cooperative functions as a shared platform for independent OD consultant-contractors, providing clients with curated access to vetted professionals while offering members mutual support, professional development, social impact opportunities, and collective bargaining power.

Core Mission: To democratize access to high-quality OD consulting while building a supportive, equity-minded professional community that advances both individual practitioners and the field itself.

Why a Cooperative?

As organization development folks, we know all too well that the world works in systems. Regardless of how much we might change or shift the individual pieces, it is systems change that brings about real progress.

Collaboration is more powerful than competition, and is a way to elevate multiple individuals and groups simultaneously, while shifting away from scarcity mindsets. The old way of doing things led to systems traps - particularly 'success to the successful' which has made it harder and harder for new practitioners to achieve the same results established folks see easily.

Likewise, our field is not exempt from the institutional racism and gender bias we see in the organizations we work for. If we seek to change this in the world, we must first address it within ourselves and our field. A cooperative offers a more inclusive and equitable means of doing business that includes more people, shares power, and seeks to continuously redistribute resources to those who need them most.
